My Holy Grail Makeup Remover!

I have blabbing on and on about the Garnier softening cleansing lotion here for so long and funnily enough almost a year into having the blog and owning the cleanser I am only writing up the post now. When it came to writing it there was a little itch in the back of my mind telling me not to do it because I am not an expert. In anything. My opinion is so irrelevant compared to the zillions of people out there that are actually beauty experts. In saying that I did really want to write something on the cleanser because I really do love it so.. I decided that I would change it up a little and not do a review.Instead, this his is going to be based on my experience with the product and that’s it.I don’t really know what you would categorize that as but anyway let’s fly on!

I picked it up about.. I actually think it was about a year ago and I’m kind of shocked but I’m pretty sure I started using this one night after I came home from a run/walk. I decided I would slop it on my face to see what the hype was with using a cleanser as a makeup remover. Well I joined that band wagon that night. It actually changed my life and I am not over-exaggerating. The way I take of my skin went from a baby wipe to a whole routine.
I put about a chocolate button sized blob onto my fingers and rub it all over my face.
After using it 2-3 times I noticed that some of my mascara would go into my eyes and one of my pet peeves is having stuff in my eyes. I don’t actually know why it happened but when that happened a few times I decided that I would use a makeup wipe on my eyes to remove my mascara and eyeliner before going in with the cleanser. After covering every inch of my face with the cleanser I take a luke-warm face cloth and wipe it all of and there in no trace of makeup left on my face. I have gone back in with micellar water and a cotton pad so many times just to check and every time it comes out clean. IT’S AMAZING.

I know there are thousands of cleansers out there. Some work better than mine some are not as good as mine but I am so contempt in using this cleanser I really don’t think I will ever veer away from Garnier cleansers. I paid less than €4 for this and a packet of wipes costs about €1.50. I know that wipes are SO convenient but I have trained myself now to just go into that bathroom and take it all off in one go.Using the cleanser takes me 90 seconds MAX!

My dry skin has kind of gone away(forever hopefully) but I do still use the cleanser. My skin hasnt become irritated which is great!

The creamy texture of the cleanser wipes away all makeup but it is still so gentle on the face -perfect for dry and sensitive skin.

This is my favourite face product that I own. Its quick and it does what it says it is supposed to do. I can’t imagine going back to using wipes as my number one makeup remover because they take triple the time to use.Plus, if I want to be the old lady with fantastic skin wipes are the last thing I will use

The texture of the cream is light weight and thin. It wont leave a thick heavy layer on your skin making it feel just as gunky as before.

I love this cleanser so much which is quick obvious from the post but I would really recommend a cleanser to people who are using wipes or just anyone really. They are actually fantastic!

A Favourite:App

Today I wanted to talk about an app that I LOVE and that has become very popular over the past year or two. Pinterest. I came across the app when it was mentioned in a’Whats on my iPhone’  video and I have been obsessed with it ever since. There is certainly something on there for everyone be it food, home decor, tattoos, gardening you name it and Pinterest has got it! I am gonna run through some of the reasons that I love it!

  • Its free- always an advantage when looking for your next favourite app perfect for If it doesn’t work out between you two!
  • I always say that It’s great for when I’m bored but its funny because I never actually feel bored because I just jump onto Pinterest so I don’t actually hit boredom I am just looking for something to do you could say.
  • I think Pinterest is most popular for the Wedding side of the app because there is so much inspiration on there and it’s almost like the app lights a fire inside you and you just feel this wave of ideas come over you and your brain is going 500 mph! My sisters friend was actually getting married last summer and she said that she got so many ideas just from using Pinterest that she had actually never seen before!
  • My favourite thing about the app is the infinite amount of recipes on there! It’s great to pop on there if you want to make a snack and you are in the mood for chicken you just hit search and everything you could ever think of adding chicken to is right there its amazing. I am a bakeaholic so if I am ever in the mood to try something new I just head onto Pinterest and I have a bazillions different ideas in front of me (even though I always end up making brownies but that’s never a bad thing!0
  • Pinterest kills me sometimes though. I am so stuffed with Wanderlust I sometimes have to exit the app because I can’t manage to look at all of those beautiful coasts and mountains that I am jealous of people who have the freedom to see all of those amazing places whenever they want! My board that is the fullest is my Wanderlust bored and it is also more than likely my favourite!
  • I find that Pinterest is much better than searching google images. For my Debs/Prom I actually only used Pinterest to find the makeup and hair looks that I wanted. By using Pinterest I could again just search Debs Hair and it gives me a lot more tags to add onto my search to narrow it down and eventually you will have narrowed it down to the look that you didn’t even know you were looking for!

What is your favourite part of Pinterest?

If you decide to give it a go don’t forget to have a peep at a few of my boards too!

Recent Purchases.

So over the last few weeks I have actually accumulated quite a lot of beauty bits. From popping into the chemist I have picked up a good few bits.

Face:

I picked up a new moisturizer for myself. I had the Garnier fresh essential for dry skin but my dryness has disappeared thankfully so I just got the dry to combination skin and so far I am liking it. I do still use my dry skin one 1-2 times a week because I do not want the dry skin to make a comeback!

I also got a new cleanser which pretty much has the same story as my moisturizer.I got the Fresh Cleansing Lotion. I got the one for normal skin but I am finishing out my dry skin one. I really am going to miss the smell of that cherry tree! Haven’t obviously started using it yet though!

I got the Nivea Facial Cleansing wipes don’t really have much to say about those but they are handy to have when I’m not wearing any makeup and I just want to clean my face before bed if I am having a lazy night!

On the boring side I picked yup some of the PS Love Oval Cosmetic Pads from Pennies. My only reason for picking this up is that I like to take my eye makeup off with my micellar water because the cleanser just puts all my mascara in my eyes and it really bugs me A LOT! So yes not too exciting cotton pads but they are an essential!

Hair:

I actually went all out and I got a hair mask for myself. I had never heard of the brand before ‘OZ Botanics Major Moisture Deep Conditioner’ It smells fantastic. Usually when I want to ‘deep treat’ my hair I just use coconut oil but I just said I would try out an actual hair mask and it was only like 2€ so if It doesn’t work out I wont have a huge loss!

I got some more of the Johnson’s Baby Spray Conditioner Spray. This stuff is my holy grail! I actually couldn’t do anything to my hair without it. I spray it all over my hair before&after a shower and brush it out and there is not one knot in my hair. I LOVE IT!

Also I threw the Creightons Frizz No More Instant Curl Revitalizing spray into my basket. Wow that really is a mouthful! I used this just while ago and I LOVE it. I have naturally curly hair but it just enhanced the curls!

Body:

Very exciting but I picked up another bottle of my favourite deodorant which is pretty much all of the Sanex brand. At this very moment the only one that I am missing from my collection of the large bottles is the pink one. I got the sensitive skin one but funnily enough I don’t actually have sensitive skin so I don’t know why I needed the deodorant..

Nails:

I picked up a good few new nail polishes because they are my addiction!I love the essence ones they are so cheap but they work so well. Better than the Rimmel ones in my opinion!

I got 2 gel polishes in 46 Black is Back and 09 #lucky.I also got 2 I love trends The first is called Sunny London and the second is Red I Am

Black Is Back                                                                             #Lucky

Sunny London                           Red I Am

Lips:

I picked up a new lip-liner from essence which is  long-lasting lip-liner in 04 Peach Beauty and I really like it.

I also grabbed a new lip balm because I wanted to have a little change from my Carmex. I got a Blistex stick in Orange Mango Blast. I am obsessed with the smell but I does leave a kind of layer around the outside of my lips but that’s ok with me!

After using the Mango blast for a few days I actually didn’t really like the way it felt on my lips. It left a heavy line of residue I guess around the outline of my lips.I may just be applying to much but just so I could spend some more money I went out and picked up the Blistex happy lips in the Strawberry flavour and I’m lovin it!I have used it a few times now and it hasn’t left me with the residue as the Mango one left me with which makes me a happy camper!

Things I Loved This August

August was a strange month for me because a lot of massive decisions were made for me! Obviously getting me Leaving Cert results wasnt a favourite this month so lets jump to the happy and exciting stuff!

Music:

Charlie Puth ft Meghan Trainor-Marvin Gaye

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft Ed Sheeran- Growing Up

Sam Smith ft Disclosure-Omen

Books:

The Girl on the Train-Paula Hawkins. This is such a great read.I think I had this finished in like 2-3 days which is not bad at all! It kept me thinking and left me hanging on every single word and I really loved it!

The Teardrop Series-Lauren Kate. When I started reading Teardrop which is the first of 2, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be like a far-fetched unrealistic story or if it was going to be a regular kind of story. A couple of chapters in it turned out to be a far-fetched story but I didn’t care because I was so intrigued by the story I kept in reading and reading. I actually finished this in one day which I am pretty chuffed about!

Face:

Garnier Fresh Essentials Normal to Combination Skin. Love this.As I have mentioned before I love water based moisturizer because they feel so refreshing on the skin and they are light weight so they sink in so fast!

Movie:

I just finished watching entourage the series which is also a fave for the month but when I finished it I watched the movie and it was SO GOOD! I was actually crying at the end because ugh Drama I loved you and hated you throughout the series.I would have to say 100% without a doubt that Ari was my favourite and I think that everyone who watched the series would say that no matter how in love with Vince they really are.And also Adrian Grenier is ALWAYS a favourite!

Hair:

I literally don’t know where I would be without the Johnson’s baby spray conditioner. I use this before and after my shower brushing it out both times and it makes brushing my hair so manageable.I would seriously recommend this to anyone who has thick curly hair who struggles to brush out the knots it’s a lifesaver!

Random:

So in August there are so many shows and festivals going on across the whole country and this month my sister my dad and I we went to a few. It’s so nice to just get out the house with them two and to kind of just do nothing but were still doing something y’all know wat am sayin?

Makeup:

I have been using the Supercat Carbon Black Extreme eyeliner pen recently and I have been LOVING it. I much prefer to do liquid eyeliner than to do a pen eyeliner thing. I just feel like it adds more to my makeup without looking to heavy so its perfect for everyday!

TV:

This month I finished-well I caught up to Pretty Little Liars. I am actually not a die-hard fan of Pretty Little Liars I just feel like its far-fetched but it hasn’t crossed the line into obviously far-fetched I just think that sometimes Its just badly made but in season 6 I didn’t really take any notice of that because I actually really enjoyed season 6 which is an actual shame because it’s the second last season and I am only just starting to really enjoy it.Still dont know how I feel about the whole -A thing. I think that it kind of went down the same road as Gossip Girl did. As in the show runners didn’t know who they were going to choose to be -A until the very last-minute.

I also freaking’ LOVED Entourage. This is by far one of my favourite tv shows. I feel like I say that all the time but there are so many that I love like Suits The 100 How To Get Away With Murder Nashville that I really don’t know what my number 1 really is. But yas I really did enjoy the series not only did the movies have me in tears but also the last episode did too!I guess I can throw in that Adrian Grenier is well in my faves!

Things that I am looking forward to in the coming month:

I am SOOOO excited for Autumn it is literally my favourite season of all time! I cant wait to be wearing warm coats and scarves. I really want to invest in a good pair of boots this year too!

I am really excited to see the second part of The Maze runner which is The Scorch Trials.

Honestly, just doing so much more with my blog really excites me!

Hazel & Ruby Blog | DIY World Map with Lights >>> New Hazel & Ruby Maps of the World Wrap It Up Paper:

I chose to put this image in the post mainly because the first time that I seen this picture so many ideas flooded into my head, Places I wanted to go, things I wanted to achieve, the people I wanted to be into my future. And also I love the idea of the lights with the map. Unfortunately I haven’t found a map of the world that I love yet so I haven’t been able to make it (sigh)

A Life Update

I don’t really remember when last I actually did one of these but I feel like it was the start of July. So I shall go from there.

In July I was house sitting for two weeks and It was actually really nice to have that time to myself I actually really enjoyed it but I still don’t think I would like to live on my own mainly because sometime I found that I was talking to myself. Maybe if I had a dog? On the 25th of July I went to see Ed Sheeran in Dublin with my 2 best friends and it was amazing. We spent the night there and we went shopping on the Sunday and it was actually amazing. I loved Dublin I loved the rush and all the people around doing completely different things but I don’t know if I could live there. Being used to such a small town which like 10 people never really having to wait in line in the supermarket I really don’t know!

On the 19th of July I had my debs and it was another amazing night! seeing everyone all dolled up in their suits and amazing gowns everyone looked so out of this world. It was so nice to see everyone completely out of their comfort zone. It was the last night that we would all be together as our class of 2015. As I write this I’m getting a little bit emotional. Thinking that I grew up with all of those amazing people around me, the people who molded me into the person that I am today. So many of them don’t know how much I owe them and they more than likely never will. On the 12th of August we all received our leaving cert results and we headed out for the night. I really don’t think that the thought of the future had really hit any of us because we were going out but then offers to college came out on the following Monday the 17th. That was a pretty shitty day for me.

For months I had been debating on whether or not I would go to college or not and on the day that we received our results I was so calm and all of my friends were so nervous. It didn’t really hit me for a while that the reason that I wasn’t nervous was because my future wasn’t on the line, I wasn’t hoping for so many points like everyone else was. On that Monday I decided that I wasnt going to go to college. I thought that I would feel worse about my decision but I actually feel so refreshed about it I actually feel like a weight has been taken off of my shoulders. People look forward to going to college when they have their dream job chosen and that wasn’t me. I still don’t know what I want to do career wise but I am very very excited to encounter what the future holds for me. Maybe next year I will decide to go to college I don’t know. Now all of my best friends are packing up their lives here and itching to begin the next chapter of their lives with thousands of other people who are going through the same thing. It is so upsetting to see them all leave but I am way more happy than I am sad. I know we will all remain friends and I am so excited for all of them

. My sister is expecting to have a baby in October and I am so super excited. It is so strange to think that in this house there is 5 people and not 4 it is so strange. I hope to be the best aunt that little baby could ask for even  though I am already Marcus’ fave! A few friends and I have also decided that we are going to go to Mumford and Sons in December which I am so so so excited about because I love them A LOT! That is also giving me something to look forward to! I am also very excited about this blog. Since I changed my perspective on blogging and what content I want to share I have become SO much more enthusiastic about the blog.

My TV

Everybody loves tv and everyone is always looking for new tv shows to watch so right now this very moment I am going to tell you all of the tv shows that I watch and love but I will also share the few that I have watched on Netflix also.

We will start off with Netflix because there isn’t actually that many.

PS. If I talk about a show that is actually finished and I am talking about it like I am still watching it, it is because I am. I am so behind on TV because of the LC.

  1. Orange is the new black. I was a bit sceptical about watching this and I always said if i was going to start watching it I would do it in the summer. So it is summer and I am watching it. I started it on a thursday it is now monday and I am onto season 3 and I don’t care because I love it.
  2. Bloodline. This is only one season and it is another netflix original. I love Kyle Chandler he is a very good-looking man. It is basically about a man who returns home to Miami to give his family s**t because they hate him. Watch it you will love it, it is a messed up show and seriously you won’t know what happens until the very last episode. There is going to be a season 2 which excites me.
  3. White Collar. This is actually shown on tv but I started watching it on Netflix. I wouldn’t say it is super amazing but Matt Bomer is a total babe.

TV

  1. Gilmore Girls. started this show in May and I do like it but sometimes I think to myself do i really like it? I am going to finish it and I will decide then if I like it as a whole or not.
  2. Hawaii 5 o. Amazing show love Hawaii and the story lines always catch me.
  3. Devious Maids. So freakin funny! Well worth the watch tbh!
  4. Mistresses. I do like this show but I do feel like it could be better but it fills up free time during the summer.
  5. How to get away with murder. If you don’t already watch this show u crazy fool!
  6. Hannibal. I do think season 1&2 were freakin brilliant but I am finding it hard to catch onto season 3.
  7. Geordie Shore. I think this may just be aired on MTV UK it is so funny and sadly so realistic.
  8. True Detective. IT needs no explanation.
  9. The Blacklist. One of my favourite shows. It doesn’t have the same repetitive storyline like every other crime show/
  10. New Girl. Its just so funny.
  11. Awkward. I feel like this portrays the lives of teenagers so well!
  12. Bones. Love this. I never find it gross which is strange.
  13. Revenge. I loved seasons 1-3 but like Hannibal I am struggling to catch onto season 4.
  14. Graceland. I don’t know why I like this I just do.
  15. Bates Motel. It is so creepy and I love it.
  16. Game Of Thrones.Another show that needs no explanation.
  17. Suits. OMG this could very well be my favourite show. One minute I hate Harvey the next I love him the cycle seriously continues every season.
  18. Keeping Up With The Kardashians. My main reason for watching this is because of the hair and makeup of the girls.

TV shows that I want to watch:

  1. The OC
  2. Entourage

TV shows I am in the middle of watching:

  1. Gilmore Girls
  2. Orange is the New Black
  3. Teen Wolf
  4. Revenge
  5. Hannibal
  6. True Detective
  7. Bates Motel
  8. Bones
